HANDBOOK: Media Literacy in light of Political Participation and engagement in Democratic processes

This handbook builds on a training course held from 1–11 August 2022 in Split, Croatia, focusing on media literacy in relation to political participation and democratic engagement. Using non-formal education and learning-by-doing methods, the training strengthened the competences of youth workers, teachers, and educators in understanding media literacy, fostering critical thinking, and applying practical approaches with young people.

Participants explored good practices and contributed recommendations for developing ten concrete workshops that can be implemented in local communities, particularly with NEET youth and young people with fewer opportunities.

This manual was also used in the Training of Trainers (ToT) as a key resource material, supporting participants in understanding and applying the principles of high-quality educational design within the context of youth work.
